As an international consortium of scholars and teachers, H-Net provides about 1,000 reviews a year and discussion networks on specific topics, all managed by volunteers (usually young scholars) in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
Reviewers and editors can be nominated or be volunteers. A specific knowledge in the field is required. H-Net advisory boards assists the peer-reviewing process and the development of multimedia content by following a set of transparent and qualitative criteria
By integrating several networks content, H-Net provides full-text reviews and uses the ICTs to enables free exchange of academic ideas and scholarly resources.
