Communities and local government
The English strategy for local e-government

Sponsored by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Communities and local government website provides local authorities with essential information about the local e-Government programme and supports local government in their aim of achieving full electronic delivery of priority services. The programme (which is officially closed in April 2006) is articulated by National Projects and main themes, with the aim of creating the building blocks of local e-government by offering cost effective standard products, services and implementation roadmaps for taylored services. The website’s general content is well-organized in a structured way, featuring side sections for local news and internal navigations, and a central, larger area for highlights and more important articles, such as pilot projects and findings, case studies, news and events. Overall the site features a large amount of information, providing users with a precise idea of the UK national strategy aimed at creating ICT sustainable communities.
